Yul Edochie, popular Nollywood actor and director has finally revealed why he discontinued with his 2023 presidential ambition.

Edochie had created awareness on his various social media pages. The ace actor said he is convinced that he is the best candidate for the presidential seat come 2023.

However, when aspirants began purchasing the presidential form, Yul Edochie, rather took to social media to solicit for contribution from Nigerians to enable him to purchase the form.

AbaCityBlog recall that Edochie, who noted that he will be running on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, did not purchase the party’s presidential form, which made him ineligible to contest the primary election.

While Nigerians have wondered why he kept mum on his presidential ambition, following the facts that all political parties have concluded their primary election, the actor took to his official Twitter handle to reveal the actual reason for backing off from the race.

According to him, after several meetings and consultations with the leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, they arrived at a conclusion that the party doesn’t have the capacity to produce the next president so he didn’t move further with his plans.

He wrote:

“I wanted to run for President with APGA. After much consultations & meetings.

“We sat and did our evaluations. We put sentiments aside & embraced facts. Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat. So I didn’t move further.”

I wanted to run for President with APGA.
After much consultations & meetings.
We sat and did our evaluations.
We put sentiments aside & embraced facts.
Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat.
So I didn’t move further.
