Why You Should Not Share Trending Pornographic Video Online – Internet Safety Advocate Reveals

As part of his efforts to educate the public about internet safety and prevent internet abuse in the society, the founder of internet safety magazine, Mr. Rotimi Onadipe has advised internet users not to post or share any trending pornographic video or picture online so as to protect young children from becoming victims of masturbation, pornography, cybersex or oral sex addiction, rape, amongst others.

He made the call at his organisation’s weekly programme on internet safety with the theme “Say NO to internet abuse, say YES to internet safety” held at Ibadan on Saturday May 7th 2022.

In this week’s edition, Onadipe said “We are in the technology age and easy access to internet has made viewing pornography to be an addictive behaviour for most internet users, particularly the young children.

“The internet is now a major source of all kinds of pornographic materials that have polluted the minds of innocent children and made many of them to become addicted to masturbation, online pornography and cybersex.”

The internet safety advocate said “we must be mindful of what we post or share on the internet. Let’s not forget that easy access to pornographic materials on the internet increases sexual urge, sexual abuse and even rape in the society.

“Early exposure to online pornography had also destroyed the lives of many innocent children. Many children are still battling with academic, emotional, psychological and other health problems as a result of their exposure to unhealthy content they found on the internet.”

“Please don’t let us worsen the situation. If you see any trending pornographic video or picture on your phone, don’t post or share it but delete it immediately and if you see anyone posting or sharing such dangerous content online, advise them to delete it”. He added.
