The Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has given reasons why his administration is yet to complete the first interchange flyover at Osisioma junction, Aba.
Ikpeazu gave the reasons while answering a question asked by the APGA governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, during the Abia Gubernatorial Debate held on 22nd January, 2019 at Abia Hotels in Umuahia.
The debate was organised by the state based media house under the name; “Abia Election Debate Team” in collaboration with the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Abia State chapter.
The debate held successfully, has in attendance other two governorship candidates from SDP, Blessing Nwagba and ACCORD PARTY, Barr. Emeka Uwakolam.
During the debate, Dr. Alex Otti of APGA, asked the incumbent governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of PDP, why the Osisioma flyover, a project started in January, 2017, is yet to be completed?
Otti, also compared Gov Ikpeazu’s achievement with his counterpart, the governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, whom, according to him, has built not less than 4 flyovers since he became the governor of Ebonyi.
In his response, governor Ikpeazu said, comparing Ebonyi to Abia is a very huge mistake and it gives him worry hearing that, because the differences are clear when it comes to infrastructure in both states.
He noted that what his administration has done in Abia, no any government has done it for the past 16 years.
On Osisioma flyover, Ikpeazu told Otti that the money which was supposed to be used on that flyover was used to construct a bridge at Arochukwu, a place where Alex Otti is hailed from.
