#StartupSouth6: Enugu Lands Hosting Right For Startup Conference

Enugu, Nigeria’s coal city State and Southeast Nigeria’s former regional capital has won the hosting rights for #StartupSouth6 – the biggest Startup and Innovation-focused conference in the South-South/South-East of Nigeria.

Consequently, the 2021 edition of #StartupSouth conference will be held in Enugu, marking a grand return to the South-East for the third time for the 6th edition of the conference. The previous editions in the region were held in Aba and Owerri in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

#StartupSouth Conference attracts founders, investors, public officials and top Technology brands from across the region and beyond. This year’s speakers will include executives from the search and social media giants – Google and Facebook – as well as executives from global payment company, Visa Card. Other speakers will include executives from Okta, Cummins, etc.

Participants are expected from around the world including San Francisco, South Africa, United Kingdom, Nigeria, etc.

The event, which will hold from October 28 – 29 is themed: “Unlocking the Next 60 Million: 4IR, Gender Gaps & Human Capacity Development,” and will be divided into Plenary and Breakout sessions covering six broad focus areas – Business, Technology, Lifestyle, Capacity Development, Early Stage Investing and Policy.

Speaking about the Conference Tochukwu (TBoy) Gabriel, Google Developer Group Lead for Enugu said “Enugu is a melting pot of talents and a hub of innovation. #StartupSouth6 coming here is a further testament of Enugu’s ranking as an emerging and globally recognized Startup City and a hotbed for smart young people.”

For Elvis Obi Nwankow, Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on ICT and Innovation, “With ENUGU’s reputation as a startup capital clearly been recognized by startupblink, this conference couldn’t have come at a better time, it’s time to avail our teeming youth population the right information to unleash their potentials, and that’s exactly what this conference is about”
