Ohanaeze laud Buhari, Amaechi for Breaking 42 Years Jinx at Onitsha Dry Sea Port

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) said to have Confirmed the breaking of 42 years old jinx at Onitsha Dry Sea Port Anambra State, as Barges were seen Moving Simultaneously Containers in small Quantities from Onne Port Rivers State to Onitsha Port.

Igbo Youths, in a statement signed by the President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, described the development as monumental moment and developmental strides in the Southeast., also, as another demonstration of love by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Government to Ndigbo.

The full statement read;

“OYC witnessed the flag off of the Pilot Barge Operations from Onitsha River Port to Onne,and thanked their Igbo Son RT Hon Chibuike Amaechi,for this historical report that will accelerate Economic Growths and developments in the Southeast Region, as Southeast was agog with celebrations over hope of unflinching access from Onne to Onitsha Dry sea Port, this landmark Breakthroughs initiated by the Ministry of Transport to ensure increased business developments in the Southeast,had brought relief and erased Pains of Igbo Businessmen over Conveyance of Containers by Road.

“OYC call on Igbo businessmen to make adequate use of the Onne Port, and Use the barge Operations to Convey Containers to Onitsha port to create Jobs for the Youths and to accelerate Economic developments of Southeast, We call on Igbos to relocate their business headquarters from South West and North to East and maximise the opportunities brought by the Barge Operations at Onitsha Dry sea Port.

“Abia State Government and Federal Government through,the Federal Ministry of Transport Should liaise for the Actualization of Owerrinta Dry sea Port, Isiala Ngwa South, Abia State, for the benefits of Igbo businessmen residing in Aba and Owerri environs.

“We are aware that Abia State Government and Federal Ministry of Transport are in touch, and hopefully it will be another developmental strides of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Government in the Southeast.

“OYC Commended Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi, Minister for Transport for the success story of breaking the 42 years old jinx and flagging off of the Barge Operations at Ontisha Port to Onne for Ndigbo, Igbo Youths will never Forget.
