The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ngor Okpala, through her leadership, has expressed great satisfaction with the decision of the Supreme Court, sitting in Abuja, on the 14th day of January, 2020, declaring Senator Hope Uzodinma of the APC as the duly elected Governor of Imo State.
The Party, in a press statement signed by the assistant publicity secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, described the judgement as sound and a true reflection of the impartiality and shrewdness expected of members of the most revered Bench in the Country.
The unanimous decision of the 7 man Supreme Court panel of Justices says so much about the indubitability of our Party’s victory at the March 9, 2019 Governorship polls.
Indeed, our hope in the Judiciary has been renewed. Particularly, the Court’s decision to correct the over 8 months of electoral fraud perpetrated by the opposition Party – the PDP.
We congratulate our Governor-elect for staying steadfast in the face of discouraging circumstances.
It is this resilience and insistence on constitutionality and the rule of law that has brought smiles on the faces of millions of our members and the entire Imolites.
While celebrating this deserved victory, the Party calls on all her Stakeholders – Leaders and Members alike – to seek for ways that will always project and protect the interest of the Party.
We are better together. Especially now that the fate of over 5 Million Imo Citizens rests in our hands.
We also use this medium to extend the Olive branch to members of the opposition, and pray them to remain magnanimous in defeat.
A greater Imo is possible.
