Military Invasion of Orlu Escalate Killings Of Policemen In Southeast – Reno Omokri

in Aba News

Reno Omokri, aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has opined that invasion of Orlu in Imo State by the Nigerian military is the reason behind the escalation of killing of Policemen in the Southeastern region.

Omokri said President Muhammadu Buhari’s action against the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and its established security network, ESN – showed that he is yet to learn from the fight against Boko Haram terrorist and how the insurgents escalated in the North East.

“The killing of policemen in the Southeast didn’t start until the army invaded Orlu in February, killing many. It led to an escalation in the SE,” Reno tweeted. According to him, had the Buhari’s administration dialogue with the IPOB, the security issues in the region would have been tamed.

“Buhari learnt nothing from the Boko crisis. This is how Boko Haram begsn. By attacking Borno and killing Mohammed Yusuf.”

Abacityblog.com reported that the military had on 18th February, 2021 – invaded Orlu in search of the members of ESN. The attack resulted in the military bombardment of many villages in Orlu.

The Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma had in a live Television program agreed that his administration invited the Army to flush out the IPOB’s ESN. He noted that the ESN are criminals, hence his administration will do everything to stop them from operating in the state.

However, the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu whose leadership created the ESN – had noted that the security network was established to protect the region from the marauding Fulani herdsmen.

According to him, since the governors from the region had refused to create a security network like their counterparts, the IPOB would do everything to protect the region.
