The Abia state police command has advised citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation following the sit at home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on the 30th of May to commemorate the Biafra genocide where millions of Igbos were killed.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the commissioner of police assured the citizens of adequate protection of their fundamental human rights as enshrines in the constitution.
The statement further warned that the police will not stand by and watch break down of law a d order by any group under any guise.
Parents were also enjoined to monitor their children and ensure they do not join in causing breach of peace and order in the state.
