The Deputy Chief Whip of the National House of Representatives Hon. Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha has formally congratulated two strongest women in American politics, the Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris and the Speaker of the USA House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi over their emergence respectively.
In a congratulatory letter she delivered to the Vice President a copy of which was made available to the Press, the Deputy Chief Whip described Kamala Harris’s election victory and subsequent inauguration as the first black African woman Vice President of America as both a triumph for the black race and an historic achievement for women all over the world.
In a similar development the Deputy Chief Whip also congratulated the Speaker Honourable Nancy Pelosi for her securing an historic non-consecutive fourth term as the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives; describing her emergence as a clear acknowledgement of her crucial role in the defence of democracy and the advancement of the collective aspirations of the people of the United States of America.
As the highest ranking Congress woman in Nigeria and also presently the only woman in the Leadership of the Nigerian National Assembly, Hon Onyejeocha see it pertinent to reach out and congratulate this women that have not only personally motivated her as a representative of the people but have also inspired many women across the globe.
To the Vice President Kamala Harris who was a high ranking Senator before contesting the presidential primaries together with Joe Biden and was later picked as the Vice Presidential candidate by Biden; Hon. Onyejeocha highly commended her experience as a law maker which she believe will be of great value to the new administration.
“Your unrivalled experience in Government no doubt will be a great assets to the Biden/Harris administration, and will enable the United States of America to continue to give the strong leadership which the world needs especially at this time”
Respectively, Onyejeocha esteemed Honourable Nancy Pelosi for exhibiting strong leadership which has earned her the reputation as a fearless leader.

Your role in strengthening the principle of seperation of Power; global defence of Human Rights, and your position against corruption, all have singled you out as a fearless Leader worthy of emulation”
In conclusion The Chief Whip in stated that she looks forward to working closely with both the Vice President and Madam Speaker in developing closer ties between Nigeria and America; and also towards strengthening the relationship between the two country’s congresses.
She went further to seek their collaboration in the promotion of gender and racial equality; and the education of the African Girl-Child both as a veritable tool for the eradication of poverty and the development of more women in active political service in Africa.
