Ready to start typing in Tamil? Google has made it easy for you with their built-in Tamil keyboard. Here’s a quick guide on how to get started.

First, open your web browser and go to google.com. In the search bar, click on the “Settings” icon (it looks like a gear). From there, select “Language and input.” You should see a list of all of the available languages. Under “Tamil,” click on the “Keyboard” option.

Now you’re ready to start typing in Tamil! The default keyboard layout is QWERTY, but you can switch to Tamil layout by clicking on the “த” icon in the bottom row. To type a letter with diacritical marks, google type in tamil hold down the modifier key (usually Alt or Shift) and type the letter. Here are a few examples:

க – k

ங – ng

ச – ch

ஜ -j

What Is Google’s Tamil Keyboard?

Google’s Tamil Keyboard is a tool that allows you to type in Tamil. It’s a great way to communicate with friends, family and other Tamil speakers, or to simply learn more about the Tamil language.

The keyboard is easy to use. Just type in the text box, select the Tamil keyboard from the list, and start typing!

How to Install and Activate Google’s Tamil Keyboard

Once you’ve downloaded the Tamil keyboard, open the Settings app on your Android device. Tap on Language & input, then on Virtual keyboard. Under Google Keyboard, tap on Languages and select Tamil. If this is your first time using the Tamil keyboard, tap on the Enable Keyboard checkbox and then on OK.

The Tamil keyboard will now be enabled. You can use it to type in Tamil by switching to it from the Qwerty keyboard. To do this, open any app where you can type text, like WhatsApp or Facebook, and long-press on the ?123 key. Tap on the Globe icon next to the spacebar and select Tamil.

Different Features of the Google Tamil Keyboard

Now that you know how to switch to the Tamil keyboard, let’s take a look at some of the different features it has.

The keyboard has all of the standard characters, numbers and punctuation marks that you would expect. It also includes a variety of accent marks that can be used to change the pronunciation of words. For example, the அ character can be used to make the letter “a” sound like “a” in “father”, or the ப character can be used to make the letter “p” sound like “p” in “spoon”.

There are also a few special characters that are specific to Tamil. The குண்டு character is used to indicate a long vowel, and the குற்ற character is used to indicate a consonant cluster.

Tips for Faster Typing in Tamil With Google

Once you’ve got the Google Tamil keyboard installed, you can start typing in Tamil. But if speed is your goal here, there are a few tricks and tips to help you get up to speed quickly.

First of all, let’s talk about key combinations. Often in words with multiple consonants, you can type just one key instead of the two that would normally be required. Preferably use the right shift key to select the character which has a combined consonant and vowel form (like கொ). This will allow you to type faster and more efficiently with fewer keystrokes.

Another thing that could help is setting up an auto-correct feature on your device if it’s available – this way, if you make a mistake or typo, restart service powershell it can automatically be corrected for you. And lastly, try to take advantage of Google’s voice input whenever possible – by pressing the microphone icon on the keyboard and speaking directly into your device instead of typing out each letter individually.

How to Disable the Google Tamil Input Method

Sometimes, you might want to disable the Google Tamil input method. Maybe you’ve switched to another input system or have changed your mind about using it. Don’t worry—it’s easy to do!

Here’s what you need to do: open the Language and Input settings in your device and select Google Tamil. Then, just toggle the switch off next to the input method. This will disable the Google Tamil keyboard and any other keyboard that was previously enabled.

Once you’re done disabling the Tamil keyboard, don’t forget to go back and re-enable any other keyboards that you were using. That way, you can always switch between them whenever you want.

Conclusion

So there you have it! With a little bit of practice, you’ll be typing away in Tamil in no time. Just remember to type slowly at first, and to use the suggestions Google provides to help you learn how to type words correctly. With a bit of patience and perseverance, you’ll be a Tamil typing master in no time.
