Following the directives by the federal government to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster management and social development, to include Anambra, Katsina and Nasarawa States in the stimulus package over the coronavirus pandemic.
There is an ongoing conditional cash transfer in Anambra community.
Photos emerged online showed people lined up on queue waiting for their turn to get their own package.
Although, Nigerians has condemned the line up arrangement, following the outbreak of covid-19. Those on queue where not mandated to observe social distancing as people were packed up in one place.
However, the Anambra state government, has said they will not be locking down the state amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
No Lockdown In Anambra
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Governor, Willie Obiano urged members of the public to go about their normal businesses.
“People of Anambra are advised to continue with their daily activities as there no restriction of movements anywhere in the state”.
“Markets, businesses etc are to run as usual.
“Ndi Anambra are advised to observe all precautionary measures in ensuring a COVID19 Free state by washing their hands and strictly observing social distancing.
“Transporters are still restricted to a number of passengers Boundaries into the state remain closed, as movements in and out of the state are restricted and monitored,” the press statement reads.
