Chief Whip of the Senate and former Governor of Abia state, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Monday night received in audience the Majority leader of House of Representatives Hon. Alhassan Doguwa, his colleague and member of the House of Representatives Hon. Sani Maruf at his Aso Villa residence, Abuja.
He also received the former Minister of Aviation during the President Olusegun Obasanjo government, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who recently joined the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) and his new wife, Nerita Kayode.
Speaking during the visit, Fani-kayode recounted the friendship ties with Kalu which spans over 40 years. He said his decision to join Kalu’s party, the APC is a right one and the best way to move the country forward.
His words, “A number of years ago, I remember our very first encounter. We have been talking through out and you have shown me so much friendship. The cause we are taking is the best way to try move our country forward.
“Honestly speaking we are brothers for over 40 years which many people doesn’t know. Through thick and thin, we have been together and you have been very consistent, a very good friend, a real brother throughout and I really appreciate you and I am glad to be where I am now.
“We will do all we can to move the party forward, to build bridges in this country across all lines and to ensure Nigeria is together, you are one of the great architects of our country. It’s a privilege for me to be here once again, you know a place like this I consider it to be my home and I will be coming here every minutes. Thank you so much and God bless you. I am proud of you.” He said.
In his reaction, Kalu thanked Fani-kayode and his wife for the visit, he said he has always asked him to join the APC and he is glad he eventually did.
“I am very happy that you are back home and I assure you that APC is a party for all of us. ” The Chief Whip said.
