It’s that time of the year where music lovers get the opportunity to upskill their talent through the MTN MUSON Scholarship program.
MTN Foundation in partnership with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) has opened applications for the 2022 Edition of the Music Scholars Programme.
The scholarship programme is aimed at creating opportunities for talented young Nigerians, to acquire quality music education leading to the award of an internationally recognized Diploma in Music.
Over 400 music scholars have been nurtured through this scholarship since its inception in 2006.

1. Who is the scholarship for?
The scholarship is open to young talented Nigerians with a goal to build a career in music or who are interested in honing their talents at the Musical Society of Nigeria. At the end of this scholarship, you will be awarded an internationally recognized Diploma in Music from the institution.
2. What is the Scholarship duration?
The diploma course is a full-time two (2) year course offering advanced training in music with the following majors: Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Classical Guitar and Voice.
3. Are there Admission Requirements?
To be eligible, interested candidates must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or General Certificate of Education (GCE) with at least credits in five (5) subjects including the English Language.
Additionally, candidates must also possess a Higher Pass Certificate in Music (Practical and Theory) from one of the three approved bodies for music examinations: Trinity, ABRSM, or MUSON.
4. What do I stand to gain if I am a successful applicant?
If your application is successful, you will receive a scholarship worth over N250,000, annually. This covers tuition, transportation, resource materials, among other needs throughout the span of the two-year diploma.
5. When is the application deadline?
Calls for the MTN-MUSON Music Scholarship Programme 2022 are now open, and entries will close on August 21, 2022. Early application is advised!
