The statement reads partly;
“HURIWA calls on the suspended EFCC Acting Chairman; Ibrahim Magu to resign so as not to destroy what is left of the reputation of the anti-graft agency and the urgent need to expand the scope of investigation on all the cases of assets forfeiture including the serious claim by Chief Emmanuel Nwude that the EFCC under Ibrahim Magu allegedly cornered his assets that were not part of the originally listed assets to be forfeited in the judgment of the Lagos High Court when he was convicted for advance fees fraud including houses of his original family built long before he had issues with the law.”
Meanwhile the embattled suspended chairman on Thursday said he would be reinstated as the chairman of EFCC.
Magu spoke through his lawyer Mr Wahab Shittu, who said he had his instruction to give an update on the probe to Nigerians,
Shittu was qouted in his statement said:
“I have the instruction of Mr Magu to tell Nigerians that he is not against the ongoing probe,shitty said. “Mr Magu asked me to tell Nigerians that he is not against the probe. The allegations against him are trumped up. He strongly believes that his name will be cleared and he will be reinstated back to office.”
