Crossroad: Popular Rapper, Mr Raw Recounts Ghastly Car Accident 5 Months After

Exactly 5 months ago today, Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje, popularly known as Mr. Raw was involved in a ghastly car accident that would have completely ended his life.

The accident took place in Abuja on 14th of August, 2021.

Recounting the accident, Mr. Raw, a popular rapper from Abia State in Southeastern Nigeria, dropped a song titled; “Crossroad” – he remembers how the accident would have ended his life and how his teenage son would have become fatherless.

Mr. Raw who is one of the pioneer of Afrohighlife and Igbo rap, a genre that now appeals to a broad, mainstream audience, said his survival was based on God’s grace and it’s not yet his time to die.

He revealed that he passed out a few minutes after he called his wife that he had an accident and she should pray for him. Mr. Raw said although, he wasn’t wearing a seat belt but he survived the accident.

The accident had his upper lip broken which was stitched by the doctors at the Abuja hospital. The singer was visited by different personalities while in the hospital.
