Making the announcement via his verified social media page, Anyaso said he embarked on the journey to rescue Abia from the hands of those who have turned the state as their personal estate.

He said he is very delighted to have been paired with a youthful candidate who share the same vision as he in the betterment of the state.

“It is my utmost pleasure to announce that I have been nominated as the deputy governorship candidate of the Youth Progressive Party (YPP) for Abia 2023 gubernatorial race”, Anyaso writes on his social media page.

“This is a call to duty which I have accepted with a deep sense of responsibility.

“I am most delighted to be embarking on this journey under the leadership of my dear friend, my brother, and fellow youth; a man who shares similar qualities as me and embodies my vision for our dear state, Abia.

“Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor is an outstanding Abian with an uncommon courage, vision and drive to reposition Abia.

“We embark on this God-inspired mission to wrestle and rescue our dear State from the hands of those who have viewed our common patrimony as their personal estate.

“Dear Abia youths we are on this journey because we are inspired by your persistence on a new Abia, we are leading from the front because we see you marching with us to reclaim your mandate which had been treated with neglect and levity.

“We have found an untainted vehicle to convey us on this journey and we urge you to come with us without hesitation.

In the coming days, the offices of our party YPP will be open in all the local governments and wards in Abia state, we urge you to register, volunteer and work with us to rescue Abia.

When injustice, neglect and recklessness flows from the top and threatens our cohesion and continued coexistence as a peaceful society, a formidable resistance emerges from the most unlikely places to restore our belief in our common destiny.
