The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi have taken legal steps to challenge the just concluded 2023 presidential election.
Obi and Labour Party have filed a motion seeking permission to inspect materials and also obtain certified copies of documents in the custody of INEC.
This is coming barely a few hours after the Labour Party bannerman held an international press conference in Abuja, which marks as his first public speech since the conclusion of the February 25th Presidential election.
Obi, during the press conference said the election was a daylight robbery and would use all legitimate means, including the courts, to reclaim the mandate given to him and his running mate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed.
He also berated INEC for conducting the worst elections in Nigeria’s history, which he said fall, even below the minimum standards.
He also said he believed in the judiciary to do justice, saying he was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the judiciary having been there severally to reclaim his stolen mandates in the past and won all.
He also said the meeting with the PDP and other parties was not a merger but exchanging ideas on way forward in national interest.
In a legal document sighted by AbaCityBlog, Obi and his party, LP, dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and All Progressive Congress, APC.
They also seek permission to inspect materials and also obtain certified copies of documents in the custody of INEC.
