Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Hon. Ben Kalu pledges to support legislative interventions for betterment of Armed forces

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, member representing Bende Federal Constituency has described the men and women of the Armed Forces as extraordinary beings who risk life and limb every day to preserve our hard-won independence and our cherished democracy.

He said this in a message released to celebrate the Armed Forces Remembrance Day. In his statement, Hon. Kalu also pledged to support to all advocacies, motions or bills that will better the lots of the armed forces.

Read the message below;

“Today we remember the men and women of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; the extraordinary men and women who risk life and limb every day to preserve our hard-won independence and our cherished democracy.

“These brave sons and daughters of Bende origin and indeed other Nigerians of all tribes and ethnic persuasions, have endured great hardships, separation from family and drastically altered lifestyles.

“They have all sacrificed something so that we could enjoy the freedoms we have today.

“Therefore, on this day of remembrance, I pledge my support to all advocacies, motions or bills that will better the lots of the armed forces while catering to the families of the slain soldiers.

“As we honour the living and fallen heroes who have fought to defend this country and her citizens, we ask God to uphold their families and to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
