Again, Supreme Court Adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s Case to September

May 11, 2023
in Biafra News

The Supreme Court of Nigeria, Abuja today adjourned the case over the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

AbaCityBlog recall that Kanu was arrested and extradited from Kenya in June 2021, and had since been detained at the Abuja headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS.

His family and lawyers have challenged his arrest and continued detention but the federal government has refused to let him go.

Kanu’s Case which was fixed today for hearing has been adjourned to 14th September, 2023.

Speaking on the adjournment, one of the Kanu’s legal representatives, Aloy Ejimakor described the adjournment as a ‘sad one’, noting that the legal team has no other than to wait until September.

“Sadly, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case before the Supreme Court has again been adjourned to 14th September, 2023,” Ejimakor tweeted.

“As unacceptable and legally injurious as this is, we have no other choice than to live with this sad development until then.
