Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu tests Negative for Coronavirus

The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has tested negative for the coronavirus after being infected by the deadly virus.

The Governor who was confirmed of the virus months ago was being treated in a Hospital in Abuja.

However, recent reports has it that his samples has returned negative negative few days after he was seen playing table tennis with his uncle.

The news of his recovery was contained in a press statement by the state commissioner for information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu.

The statement noted that governor Ikpeazu is free of the virus according to the extant guidelines of Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC.

“Repeat COVID-19 test conducted by Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on samples submitted by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Thursday, 2nd July, 2020, returned negative result on Friday, 3rd July, 2020.

“Governor Ikpeazu is therefore deemed free of the virus according to the extant guidelines of NCDC and the World Health Organization (WHO).
