Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency has a candidate for the 2023 general elections whose name is synonymous with capacity, whose results speak volumes and who is easily and arguably the most loved by the people!

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji MNSE has not taken his popularity among the people for granted; he has rather kept consulting, kept working and kept meeting with the people especially at the grassroots where it matters most.

He is the only one among other candidates for the same Federal Constituency who is known and seen to be going out to meet with the people, listening to them, fulfilling their expectations as much as he can, taking note of their other needs, feeling their pulse, empathising and rejoicing with them as situation may demand and making promises which they know he will fulfil based on his impeccable antecedents.

From the hinterland of Ariam Usaka through the boisterous town of Olokoro, the enigmatic locality of Ohuhu and to the central city of Umuahia, the mantra has remained the same: “onye nenye anyi kanyi genye”, literally meaning that “We will support only those that care for us”. And, indeed, the Speaker has shown enormous care to the people through his Direct Touch Initiative, human capital development initiatives and his physical projects which dot the state even beyond his immediate constituency.

As 2023 general elections approach, it is both our responsibility and duty as voters to ensure that we are not swayed by emotions of primordial considerations but only by proven capacity to use public office to make the life of the people better. And among all the candidates for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, only Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji MNSE parades such credentials with humble aplomb. He has done so much. He will do more!

Let’s vote wisely, for Ikuku Oma Abia!

– Jude Chijioke Ndukwe is the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the PDP flagbearer for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency at the forthcoming general elections.
