2023 Abia Guber: PDP Social Media Influencers Endorse Kalu Idika Okwara

A frontline governorship aspirant for Abia State 2023 gubernatorial election, Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, has been endorsed by a group of New Media Influencers in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The group announced the endorsement on Friday, in Abuja after a closed door meeting with the oil and gas expert at Wadata Plaza.

According to a release by Chief Obadiah Mbila, the group promised to support the aspiration of Idika Okwara in succeeding Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2023.

He said, “Ohafia born Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, Udomba 1 of Amibe, and a frontline PDP Abia State Gubernatorial Aspirant has been endorsed by PDP media influencers in Wadata Plaza.

“The amiable Aspirant’s Technical support group in a meeting with the PDP social media influencers on Friday, 11th March, 2022, agreed to promote the candidature of Chief Kalu Idika Okwara through consistent advocacy and lobbying.”

Similarly, a group under the aegis of Good Governance Initiative, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State to adopt Chief Kalu Idika Okwara as its consensus candidate in the 2023 governorship election.

The Deputy Director General of the group, Iroha Awa made the call in Umuahia while speaking with journalists.

He said Okwara is credible and about the most qualified of all the aspirants who is prepared for the Governorship.

“We need someone with a track record that is capable of transforming Abia State.”

Awa said Okwara meets much of the conditions being a seasoned technocrat.

“In our strong opinion, somebody who, by right and constitutionally, should fly the flag of PDP come 2023 is Kalu Idika.

“He is from Ohafia in Abia North. Who else is better than him? We are convinced that he can reshape and return Abia to its economic prominence. Adopting him therefore as consensus candidate will bring Abia to desired socioeconomic status.”

The group argued that Ohafia clan has never produced governor of this state.

They appealed that Okwara be adopted as sole candidate if PDP must win the election.

They also claimed that Ohafia played very prominent role in midwifing emergence of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and has given him 100 per cent support.
