2023 Abia Guber: Group offers to purchase nomination form for Kalu Idika Okwara

A group, Bende Progressive Forum, California, has offered to purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for Chief Kalu Idika Okwara should he decide to contest the Abia State governorship election in 2023.

Idika Okwara is yet to officially declare his interest in the governorship election.

In a statement issued on Monday, James Orji, convener of the forum, said Kalu Idika Okwara’s “rare” qualities have endeared him to the group, noting that his political ideologies and determination for a better Abia State aligns with the vision of the group.

The group appealed to the Abia State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to consider nominating Chief Idika Okwara as its governorship candidate in the 2023 general election.

The statement reads: “Supporting Kalu Idika Okwara is a clarion call in defence of liberty, justice, human and material development of Abia State.

“We believe that he has the experience, the exposure and right connections to take Abia State to greater heights. We are appealing to the People’s Democratic Party to consider nominating him as their consensus governorship candidate to enable the party retain Abia State,” the statement said.
