Speaker Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Zailani has assured the Tsaunin Kura Residents Association (Sabo GRA) that roads in their community will be given priority.
He gave the assurance, when President General of Sabo GRA, Comrade Dr. Silas Adamu led executives of the community on a visit to the Speaker at the Kaduna Assembly’ on Monday November 30, 2020.
“Issue of road insha Allah will be over in Tsaunin Kura.
“We have enough allocation for roads in next year’s budget.
“I will call KADRA and tell them Tsaunin Kura should be captured in the first quarter of 2021 projects,” he assured.
While welcoming the association to the State Assembly, he told them that just like the Kaduna State Government’ led by Malam Nasir el-Rufai is for everyone irrespective of tribe or religion, the Assembly’ is also free for everybody to visit.
“His Excellency, Malam Nasir el-Rufai is a man of his words. I was speaking to his Excellency about the stadium round about bridge and the need to get a back up and within a short time, he approved construction of bridge from Kabala Doki axis to Barnawa over River Kaduna,” he said.
“I promise tomorrow, I will call the MD KADRA to find out situation of your road. We will do it under urban renewal.
“When you do a lump sum, the Goverment can change direction every time so your area can be captured,” he further assured.
Speaking further, he said that a lot of people assume that the Kaduna Assembly’ is a push over, but they are getting it wrong.
“A lot of people are saying the Stats Assembly is a rubber stamp, but we are not.
“This is the only Assembly’ that money is not given before approval of budget from the Governor.
“I have been in this Assembly’ since 2007 and I can say, this is the best Governor so far.
“He gives contract through bids, even without knowing the person.
“Someone applied for a contract worth over N500m without knowing anyone, he was excited when he got it without knowing anyone.
“Before even a contract of N500,000, the Governor must know who is getting it,” he explained.
The Speaker said that since the Inception if this regime in 2016, the only complain people are having is that he is not sharing money.
“He is only concerned about capital projects,” he added.
Zailani stressed that it is only in Kaduna State that they have a Leadership Council, chaired by the Chief Judge of the state, where the Governor is just an ordinary member and yeilds up to superior arguments.
Kaduna Speaker Hosts Sabo GRA Executives, Bags Epitome of Democracy title.
The Speaker, Kaduna State House Of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Zailani has bagged a title of Epitome of Democracy from the Tsaunin Kura Residents Association (Sabo Gra), Kaduna.
Presenting a souvenir for the title to him at the State Assembly on Monday November 30, 2020, President General of Sabo GRA, Comrade Dr Silas Adamu explained that it was in view of dividends of Democracy that have reached the 23 local government areas of the state since he assumed the position.
“We are not blind to the fact that in less than one year, Zailani Absolute Care Foundation, where you are its Patron, has touched many lives of our citizens across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state and the Sabon Tasha GRA community has a special place in its soul and praying for Allah’s continuous guide and protection in order to continue your laudable efforts at bringing succor to the poor masses of the state.
*In this wise, Rt. Hon. Speaker, our community looks up to ypu in supporting its quest for the state government to begin the rehabilitation of roads at the Sabon Tasha as already shown by His Excellency, Governor Nasir el-Rufai, in assessing the roads through KADRRA, demonstrating that it is only this government that has shown true love to this government layout since its establishment in 1978.
“We are also happy and are proud to say that your choice as the Chairman Northern Speaker’s Forum (NSF) is truly deserved, in view of the charismatic leadership qualities you posses, which is desired in this trying times on the Northern region.
“Having said this, I on behalf of the community, present the title, EPITOME of DEMOCRACY to.you, optimistic that it would spur you on to greater service to the State Assembly’, our dear state, the North and Nigeria,” he said.
Comrade Adamu said that Sabon Tasha GRA residents, under the auspices of the Tsaunin Kura (Sabon Tasha) GRA Residents Association, have been been in awe of his monumental contributions to the heights of the present administration in bringing the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the teeming people of Kaduna State.
“Our visit is to solidarixe with you and congratulate you on the attainment of the exalted office of the Speaker of the State Assembly of a state which occupies a special position as not only the undisputed capital of the northern region, but also the economic and political gateway of the entire Northern part of the country, Nigeria and to honour you for these unassailable contributions to our democratic strides.
“We are optimistic that with your support, the infrastructural intervention we solemnly seek will speedily begin
“Often times, Rt. Honourable Speaker, most politicians adopt a culture of being too busy to see their constituents even when the callings of their offices are not as busy as they would want us to know, simply because they believe every constituent is seeking for pecuniary gains,” he added.
He explained that his positive contributions to democratic engagements in Kaduna State as the revered Honourable Speaker of the State Assembly will remain indelible in his political strides.
The President General recalled that Tsaunin Kura (Sabo GRA) was created by the state government as a high brow residential area by the Kaduna State Government’ in 1978.
“The residential layout, which boasts of being one of the largest and we’ll planned layouts has since then suffered neglect from previous governments.
“Today, it is home to thousands of households who are law abiding and patriotic citizens of our great state and country, Nigeria, and yearning for the development of their neglected community , through your exalted office.
“We are glad that the present administration in Kaduna State, led by Malam Nasir el-Rufai has rekindled our hopes of providing infrastucture befitting a layout of this standard.
*Only recently, His Excellency mandated the Kaduna Roads Agency (KADRA) to visit the community and assess our roads with a view to accommodating us in the expansive urban renewal project being undertaken by the state government.
“This development has generated a lot of excitement from residents, whom have been committed to remittance of the annual ground rents and other statutory obligations,” he informed.
He said that they are optimistic that with his support, the Infrastructural Intervention they solemnly seek will speedily begin.
“The honour we are bestowing on you did not come about in error, but in recognition of your leadership of the House of Assembly’ which has led to several people oriented development in our state.
“We wish you God’s blessings and protection as you continue to light up the path to a greater and more united Kaduna State,” he prayed.
