COSEYL, in a press statement signed by its President General, Chief Goodluck Egwu Ibem, obtained by ABACITYBLOG said “South Africans has make it a duty to be killing their fellow Africans mostly Nigerians who are living in their country doing legitimate business”.
“The act of killing and looting the shops of Nigerians is worrisome and it must stop immediately. The destruction of Nigerian business and killing of citizens of Nigerians in South Africa is against everything our collective struggle for freedom was about.
“It is very sad and unfortunate that the south African deputy police minister , Mr Bongi Mkongi openly in a press conference said that the south African government is in support of the killing of Nigerians and other Africans in their country.
“According to him that other Africans mostly Nigerians have 80% of business in South Africa. So that is why they have to kill Nigerians in other to take over their businesses and properties.
“MTN is a South African owned number 1 telecommunication network provider in Nigeria. ShopRite and DSTV are south African owned firms that are leading in their area of business and no Nigerian have ever thought of destroying their business activities or harming their owners . We have been supporting and patronizing them .
“Since south Africans have shoot the first shoot , we give MTN, DSTV, SHOPRITE and other South African firms doing business in Nigeria 7 days ultimatum to leave Nigeria.
“It is very sad that South Africa has suddenly forgotten that Great Nigerians like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe , Chief Mbazulike Amaechi and others Nigerian nationalist play a prominent role for the actualization of the independent of South Africa. Nigerians died and sacrificed greatly fighting for the independent of brothers and sisters in South Africa. Why should they pay Nigerians pay in such a cruel and wicked manner .
“We call on Nigerians and other Africans living in South Africa not to be afraid, they should be strong , fight and defend themselves against any attack from South Africans . Africa belongs to all of us.
“We call for arrest and prosecution of the Nigerian police men that killed a Nigerian protesters in Lagos protesting the killing of fellow Nigerians in South Africa. They is no where in the world were protesters are attacked with guns . Even the south Africans police did not attack their own citizens killing Nigerians with guns. It is callous and wicked to kill protesters . We call for immediate probe into the extra-judiciary killing of the protesters.
“We therefore call on the African Union (AU) and the international community to immediately respond to this wicked act against humanity . The culprits and their sponsors especially Bongi Mkongi , South African deputy police Minister and the South African government that is complicit in this xenophobic acts, should be brought to book to face prosecution for crime committed against humanity.
