Entrepreneur, Gesare Chife, founder of nonprofit organization, Chife Foundation have narrated how welfare officers at motherless babies home stole everything she bought for the orphanage.
Mrs. Chife was reacting to a social media post which Twitter user revealed how her mum revolted against the Davido’s decision of setting up a committee to disburse the N250M to orphanages across Nigeria.
Recall that music star, David Adeleke aka Davido donated N250M to orphanages across Nigeria, an acts he said he will be doing yearly to mark his birthday.
The international Nigerian artist also set up a 5 man committee to oversee the disbursement of the fund to reach orphanages across the country.
Reacting, a Nigerian social media user, @soibomari said when she told her mum about Davido acts of kindness, her mum was so happy and also, revolted and said the welfare officers will steal it all.
“I told mum what Davido did and I’ve never seen her revolt so passionately against something. She said the money won’t get to the children cos welfare officers steal all. She said its so bad that nurses never want to leave welfare homes when they’re posted there.”(sic)
Corroborating the story, Mrs. Chife said she had such experience when she bought some stuffs to give to the orphanage in Nigeria.
She tweet: “I will only comment from my own experience. I once bought mattresses, clothes, foodstuff etc for an orphanage in Nigeria (I won’t say which one) only to find out later the kids they showed me are not orphans and all the stuff we donated was stolen by the staff.”(sic)
