Why Igbos are the Salt of the Nation – Senator Kalu

June 23, 2019
in Aba News

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, has said the Igbo tribe are the salt of the nation (Nigeria), ABACITYBLOG reports.

Senator Kalu stated this during his inauguration party held in his Igbere country home to thank his constituents for voting him during the 2019 election.

According to Kalu, Igbo people have the power and strength to turn the tide of Nigeria for good. He calls on the Igbos to play good politics, he decried the situation, quoting last election where they voted massively against the APC.

“Igbos should learn politics from the South-West, Senator Kalu said. He further noted that the South West voted 40/60, adding that, that is the best way to play politics.

Speaking further, the business mogul said Igbos are everywhere and if come together, they can turn the tide of Nigeria.

He said; “I can see the darkness clearing ways for light, I can see Igbo going where they never believe they will be. I can see the future is stronger with President Muhammadu Buhari. I can see the future is brighter.

“Our land is Igbo, but we are living everywhere, when you talk about the Igbo, we are everywhere, If you go to Lafia today, after their indigene, the next people you will see is Igbo, if you to Kano today, after the indigene, the next people are Igbo, if you go to Oshobo today, after their indigene, the next people you will see are Igbos.

“Nobody can dispute that, I stand to be corrected that Igbos are the salt of the nation. Yes, Igbos are the salt of the nation. We have the strength and we need to come together, to show our strength and turn the tide of the nation.

“We have the strengths and we have everything to turn the tide of the nation through democracy, we only need to come together. We can face the challenges of any type, we can face challenges of today and tomorrow, but we cannot leave the future in the hands of other people to determine where we will go.
