Why God Made me Abia Governor by Okezie Victor Ikpeazu

“Why God elevated me to be the Governor of Abia State at this time is to bring hope to the ordinary people in the Society and to tell people that whosoever God wants to Bless, he doesn’t look at your Past” those were the words of the Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu on Sunday 31st March at Assemblies of God Church 123 Tenant Road Aba, Abia State.

The Re-elected Governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu a regular guest to the annual Spirit-filled Programme ZAM JEHOVAH NIGHTS of Assemblies of God Church ABA on Sunday graced the grand finale of its 2019 Edition.

The Governor who was accompanied by the Lawmakers Representing Ohafia North and South State Constituencies Hon Mandela Obasi and Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu,Commissioner for Information Chief John Okiyi Kalu,Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr Enyinnaya Appolos Appreciated the Senior Pastor Rev Dr Ogboso Ejindu and the Assemblies Of God Church for standing with his Adminstration.

Governor Ikpeazu said if God could raise him,a Son of a School Headmaster and that of a Nurse,then God can raise anybody without minding your Past.

The Governor Narrated his Experience with the Holy Spirit in 2011 during his days at the Abia State Passenger Integrated Manifest Scheme(ASPIMS) as General Manager when he was given an option by the then Governor through the Commissioner for Finance to resign if he failed to pay Salaries of the 400 Staff in his Agency.

“I didn’t know the Personality of the Holy Spirit not until 2011 while at the ASPIMS,the Commissioner for Finance then said the Governor asked me to resign if I fails to pay Salaries of the 400 Staff in my Agency ,on my way from Umuahia to ABA I was crying because I had no money to Pay,but when I got to Nsulu around the Army Security Check Point something spoke to me to be calm because the marching order by the Governor could be a stepping stone,before I could reach Aba I was able to find a Solution to the Payment of Salaries,not just payment of Salaries but was able to end the year with N1million in my Account for the First Time in Government” The Governor Narrated.

Ikpeazu said that encounter drew him closer with the Holy Spirit.

The Governor revealed that for the Four Years he has held sway as Governor ,he has never spoken with a written Speech out of over 600 Speeches he had delivered as a Governor even in the United Nations.

“I have cultivated this culture with the Holy Spirit that anytime I call upon him within the short notice,he answers”

The Governor urged the Congregation to live a Righteous life to enable them have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu thanked God for the Success of the 2019 Governorship Election in the State reiterating that God answered his three Prayer Points which focused on Peaceful Election in Abia State.

“I asked God for three things,the last was for our Victory,the First was that Nobody should die during the Election,the Second was for a Violent Free Election in the state and he did it for Us”

The Governor revealed that his Adminstration will do more to strengthen the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) and Institute Local Government Waste Management Agency to tackle Environmental Challenges in the State.
