President Muhammadu Buhari did not give any inaugural speech during the inaugural ceremony where himself and the vice president were sworn in on Wednesday at the Eagle Square Abuja.
The development had sparked up adverse reactions from Nigerians as it a norm for a newly sworn in president to give the inaugural speech.
The oath of office was administered on them by the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad.
However, close sources to the president have revealed that the major reason why the president gave no inaugural speech was because he planned giving it on June 12th which is now the nation’s Democracy Day.
Therefore, the much anticipated speech of the president will reportedly be delivered on the 12th of June, the new Democracy Day.
