A socio-political group, OUK Movement Ikwuano Chapter has revealed that the dividends of democracy in Abia State is comprehensively abysmal.
The Ikwuano Chapter Coordinator of the group, Mr Uchenna Nwaogbo stated this when the State Coordinator Hon. Ojisi Iro and his team paid a familiarization visit to the council area.
Receiving the team, Mr Uchenna expressed gratitude to the developmental strides and leadership qualities of the former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
He lamented the absence of good governance in the state since Kalu left office in 2007, noting that the people of Ikwuano local government area would follow the political direction of the Senate Chief Whip.
Earlier, in his address, the State Chairman of the movement, Hon. Ojisi Iro thanked members of the movement in Ikwuano for their resilience and belief in the visions of OUK Movement and assured them that come 2023 Abia will be freed from bad governance.
The chairman further explained that the reason for the visit to the council area was to meet with their members at the grassroot and interact with them. He assured then that his leadership at the state level will address all the challenges faced by leadership of the movement in Ikwuano LGA.
Other members of the state team that went on the visit with the state chairman include the Abia North Zonal Deputy Chairman and acting Woman Leader of the Movement, Barr. Helen Okoro Orji; Abia State Secretary of the Movement, Mrs. Uzoma Emezue; Abia State representative of OUK Movement in the Diaspora, Chief Mrs. O.J Kanu; Abia State Publicity Secretary of the movement, Barr. Sam Ogbonna.
Others are Abia State Organising Secretary of the movement, Rev. Sunday Orji; Abia State Assistant Youth Leader of the Movement, Comrade K.C Alozie; Abia State media Officer of the Movement, Mr. Ugbaja Clement; Area 1 Chairman(Agbama) of the Movement, Mr. Stanley Nnaji and the Chief Protocol Officer to Senator Orji Uzor kalu, Mr. Ndukwe Okereke.
