Golden Guinea Breweries PLC, has issued a statement dispelling reports on the commencement of full operations at its plants in Umuahia, Abia State.
The statement came on the heels of reports by some aides of the Abia State governor, that the breweries has begun full operations.
In an article shared by Sam Hart, an aide to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, he alleged that the company has begun an operation, and that he and the commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, during their visit drank beer brewed from the company.
However, reacting in a statement signed by the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Mr Udo Ogaranya and issued on the Nigerian Stock Exchange portal, the company said such reports should be overlooked. Noting that they’ve not begun operation.

The full statement reads;
”The attention of Golden Guinea Breweries Plc has been drawn several unauthorised recent online publications on the commencement of full operations of the company”.
“The company stands on the disclosure and publication issued to the public via the issuer’s portal on resuming operations before the end of the second quarter of 2019”.
“We have not resumed operations and, therefore, any contrary and mischievous online publication is hereby disclaimed”.
