Local vigilante operatives have allegedly killed and set a tricycle operator ablaze in Aba, commercial city of Abia State.
The incident took place yesterday at Port Harcourt road by Ozomba Street.
An eyewitness report said the vigilante had tracked down the tricycle operator along over his involvement in transporting the cult group known as “Aro Boys”, as they go about committing crimes.
The source said the “boys” has been terrorising the area, stealing and breaking into people’s shops.
A resident who prefers to remain anonymous said the guys carry out their criminal act even in broad daylight.
“The boys are terrorising the area with impunity. Can you imagine, they told us that they are not afraid of the Police”. “The other day, they had a gun duel with Uratta local vigilante division.”
“We have reached out to the Police for security, but they told us that there is no motorable road to access the area.”
“We’re calling on the Federal and Abia State government to fix the Port Harcourt road, if the road is fixed, the criminal activities may reduce to minimum”, the boys are successfully carrying out their acts because of the deplorable state of the road which made it impossible for Police to access.”
