A Senator of United States of America, Senator Bob Menendez, has responded to the rearrest of Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters and duo citizen of Nigeria and US.
Sowore was arrested by the Nigerian government and has been ordered to be released by the court. Despite the court order, the Department of Security Service, DSS, has refused to release him.
Yesterday, he was forcefully abducted in the court room where he was arraigned on many counts charges. The force arrest has been condemned by many well meaning Nigerians as the video filtered the internet.
Reacting to Sowore’s rearrest, Senator Menendez while addressing a world press conference flanged by Sowore’s wife said “there will be consequences”.
According to him, ““We are watching and will be reviewing our relationship with the Nigeria government and any harms that comes to Sowore, there will be consequences”
