A storey building lock up shops along Ngwa road by Emejiaka Street Aba, Abia state, yesterday, razed by fire.
The inferno which started around 3:PM from a clothing shop destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.
Every effort to reach the men of fire service proved unsuccessful as residents resorted to using buckets of waters to quench the fire, while others can be seen throwing sachet water into the inferno in a bid to stop it.
While people were afraid that the fire might escalate to other buildings around, the inferno was raging so much that residents in nearby buildings had to scamper to safety.
Efforts to reach the Fire Service proves abortive at the time of this report.
