Former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu has said that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi can’t win presidential election in Nigeria.
Ekweremadu made the statement during an interview with newsmen at PDP headquarters in Abuja.
The lawmaker said to be honest, Peter Obi is ably qualify but South-East will vote for the PDP in the 2023 presidential election.
The PDP chieftain added that South East can’t afford to throwaway their votes by voting for Peter Obi.
He said: “I come from the South East, I can assure you that South East will vote for PDP, I can guarantee that.
“No doubt, Peter Obi is our son, but we need to be dynamic, we ask ourselves, can Peter win the presidential election? Will the East afford to throwaway their votes? Can we afford to be sentimental in matter that concerned our future and our children? The answer is No!
“So, we don’t intend to do a thing which we will regret in the future”.
AbaCityBlog reports that Peter Obi’s candidacy has garnered organic support from Nigerian youths as many on social media has tagged themselves #Obidient.
