It’s no longer news that the Men of EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal operation announced that they have arrested a suspected Internet fraud kingpin, Kingsley Ikenna Onwuzuruike (a.k.a Nwanta Anayoeze Yonaracha) in Umuahia, Abia State.
The reports, according to a statement by the Public Affairs department of the zonal office of the commission in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday, said Onwuzuruike specialized in defrauding banks in the United States of America, through “compromised business email messages” to his unsuspected victims.
The news which went viral on social media and online blogs has got Nigerians talking. But in a swift response, Nwanta Anayoeze went live on Facebook, debunking his arrest, he added that he was never arrested by the EFCC, while describing the news as false.
But the confusion is, in the EFCC statement, Nwanta Anayoeze posed for a mugshot with a banner written boldly his name and his crime. Then minutes later, the same suspect went live on Facebook denying his arrest by EFCC.
Isn’t it confusing?
