Popular Nollywood actor, James Ikechukwu Esomugha, best known as Jim Iyke has reacted to rumours of his conversion to Islam.
The rumuour started when a Twitter user alleged that the actor has converted to Islam. ”I heard that the popular Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has revert to Islam. Alhamdulillah! Welcome to Islam, religion of peace. We welcome you wholeheartedly,” the Twitter user wrote.
Reacting, the actor dismissed the reports as rumours while stating that the photos shared on the internet which triggered the claim were taken from a movie he made in Ghana, called “Zangu Boys”. According to him, it’s a movie about religious fanatics.
He said the picture was taken while on set for the movie.
He added that while he respect all religion, as he believes in one God, however, he has no plan of ever to convert to Islam as he is committed to his faith.
