Popular Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh is dead. The Benue State-born actress died on Sunday in Warri, Delta State.
The actress, known for her role as Emu in African Magic family drama, The Johnsons, died on Sunday night.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas confirmed that Ameh died at NNPC hospital in Delta State.
Prior to her death, the 48-year-old actress had on June 15, in an interview with TVC Television programme, Your Views – opened up on her battle with mental illness.
Ada Ameh revealed that she started battling depression which led to mental illness shortly after her daughter’s death in 2020.
The actress, who started her career 27 years ago, said she and her daughter lived as siblings because she had her at the age of 14.
“I was depressed following the death of my only child, my daughter. She was everything to me, she was like my best friend and sister, because I had her when I was 14”.
“We grew up together, and her death really got me depressed”, Ada Ameh told the interterviwer on the programme.
