Social media viral video has showed the moment a Nigerian lady was assaulted by her family for being a Lesbian.
Trouble started when video of the lady and her partner was shared online and it garnered much views, along the line it became viral which prompted the lady’s family to beats her up for her kind of lifestyle.
In the video shared by Gistloversblog, the lady was seen begging his father and her brothers to show mercy. She pleaded while the father kept beating and flogging her with belt.
It’s no longer new that both male and female same-sex sexual activity is outrightly illegal in Nigeria.
In fact, the maximum punishment in the 12 northern states that have adopted Shari’a law is death by stoning. That law applies to all Muslims and to those who have voluntarily consented to application of the Shari’a courts.
While in Southern Nigeria, homosexuality can land men up to 14 years in prison.
On January 7, 2014, Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan, signed the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill (SSMPA) into law.
