President Muhammadu Buhari during his national broadcast earlier today, Friday, orders CBN to release the old N200 note into circulation until April 10, 2023, when it will stop being legal tender.
He says Nigerians should return all old N1,000 and N500 to the bank.
The president also, asks CBN to make the new banknotes more accessible to Nigerians and appeals for their understanding.
He also says the redesign of the currency has reduced the influence of money in politics, assuring of credible general elections this month.
