Nde Community in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State has accused the men of the Nigerian Military of allegedly brutalising their youths for protesting against the Fulani cattle rearers.
In a video shared online which has gone, the villagers, especially the men were seen with different kinds of wounds in their body, which according to them was inflicted on them by the Military who disrupted their peaceful protest.
Herdsmen/Farmers clash has led to lots of deaths across different communities in Nigeria. Herdsmen destruction of farm crops has been on the increase and most affected communities has protested over the invasion of their farmlands by the marauding herdsmen which, always, in turn led to bloodshed.
However, sharing the video on Instagram, @stkingso said the Nde villagers were only protesting against cattle grazing in their farmland when the military intervened and arrested the youths and brutalized them.
“No fewer than 10 youths of Nde Community in Ikom Local Government Area, Cross River State were brutalised by soldiers, prompting residents and monarchs to cry out to the military and state government for help
“Nde community in Ikom local government area of CRS is currently on fire as military men dehumanized the community youths who pleaded with the ‘herdsmen’ to leave their land after destroying almost all their produce,” he added.
