The United States of America, Embassy in Federal Capital Territory has issued a security alert on another possible terrorists attack in Abuja.
In a statement publish on its official website, the U.S Embassy revealed that there is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja, adding that it will, henceforth, offer reduced services until further notice.
The statement further revealed some of the places that might be the target of the terrorists, which may include, but are not limited to, government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations.
On how not to get caught up in the possible terror attack, the U.S embassy told her citizens to take the following actions:
- Avoid all non-essential travel or movement.
- Stay alert.
- Avoid crowds.
- Review your personal security plans and keep your cell phone charged in case of emergency.
- Carry proper identification.

Nigeria had recently experienced terrorists attack in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, following the invasion of Kuje prison in by Boko Haram members, who broke into the prison and freed their members on July 6th, 2022.
AbaCityBlog reported that the attack occurred months after the terrorists bombed the Abuja-Kaduna railway and abducted several passengers for ransom.
