Njaba Divisional Police Headquarters, Umuaka, in the Orlu Zone of Imo State, was completely razed down by Unknown Gunmen, in the wee hours of Saturday, July 31, 2021.
According to reports, both the Police Station and Residential Quarters were completely destroyed, and three Police officers reportedly lost their lives in the attack.
Authorities of the Imo Police Command confirming the incident, said the attack happened around 1:30 am on Saturday.
Mike Abattam, spokesman of the Police in the state, said two members of the group were killed during the operation while the remaining ones ran into the bush.
Abattam also revealed that one Ak 47 rifle was recovered with 10 rounds of live ammunition and a locally made double barrel pistol with two expended cartridges.
“They detonated an Improvised Explosive Device into the parking lots of a nearby Njaba Police Station, causing minimal damage,” he said.
