The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again caught in a fresh gaffe while trying to throw jabs at the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
Tinubu, while addressing the crowd of his supporters at his campaign rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, accused Atiku Abubakar of selling everything in government when he was a ‘Senate President’.
He said: “Atiku, when we make am Senate President, he sold everything”. A statement, which brought an uneasy calm among his supporters and his men who were standing on the podium with him.
Fact check by AbaCityBlog shows that Atiku Abubakar was never a senator or a Senate President.
In fact, Atiku ran as governor of Adamawa State in 1990, 1996 and later, in 1998, being elected before becoming Olusegun Obasanjo’s running mate during the 1999 presidential election and re-elected in 2003
In summary, Atiku was never a Senate President and Tinubu’s statement was misleading or should we say he goofed?
