Gunmen, suspected to bandits attacked Jos Correctional Centre on Sunday.
Punch Newspaper reports that the gunmen, suspected to be bandits, stormed the Correctional Centre to free their members in the facility.
Residents confirmed that heavy gunshots were heard from the direction of the Jos Correctional centre located in between the State Police Command headquarters and that of the Directorate of State Services.
The incident also caused panic among residents and many people were stranded on the road as many motorists avoided the area .
As of the time of filing this report, it was not clear whether the bandits were able to succeed in their mission.
