The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, yesterday played a host to her Excellency, Catriona Laing a British High Commissioner to Nigeria.
The Abia North Senator who hosted Laing and her staff in his Abuja home said he thanked Laing on behalf of the British government for saving millions of lives from famine.
Most especially, the British involvement in humanitarian services by assisting victims of insurgency in the North East Nigeria.
In a statement obtained by Abacity Blog, the former Abia governor said;
“Early this (yesterday) evening I received in audience, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Her Excellency, Catriona Laing and some of her staff who paid a courtesy call to my Abuja residence.
“While appreciating Catriona for the courtesy visit ,I also expressed my gratitude to the United Kingdom (UK) for securing the commitment of the G7 action plan to help save millions of lives from famine and humanitarian crises, including the facilitation of funds to assist victims of insurgency in the North East.
