The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has congratulated his daughter, Olivia for her successful graduation from The Hills School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States of America.
Kalu, a businessman and a former governor of Abia State revealed that Olivia has equally gained admission into Cornell University, New York, U.S.A.
In a Facebook post, Kalu wrote: “In the spirit of celebration, join me to congratulate my daughter, Olivia Kalu for her successful graduation from The Hills School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, United States of America. She has equally gained admission into Cornell University, New York, U.S.A. Congratulations sweetheart.”
Responding to a comment that politicians wards schooling in abroad are the reason for the poor educational sector in Nigeria, Kalu said such assertions does not correlates in his own case.
He stressed that it’s important to note that his children are all American citizens and his first daughter, was born in 1991 in the US – even before he became a governor in 1999.
“My five children were born in the US and are all citizens of the US. My first child , Neya was born in 1991 and I do not see any correlation with my children’s education and the comments about ASUU.”
“My children were already schooling in the US even before I became Governor in 1999. It is just fair I clarify this with reference to some unkind comments I have read,” Kalu said.
