The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed one disturbing thing he observed during the commissioning of constituency projects in his senatorial zone, Abia North.
AbaCityBlog reported that Kalu, a former Abia State Governor, now senator representing Abia North senatorial district went on a commissioning spree of his constituency projects during the Easter celebration.
Senator Kalu was accompanied by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and other high profile politicians during the commissioning. AbaCityBlog reported that the Businessman cum politician built over fifty roads in the 3yrs of his representation across Abia North.
He commissioned projects like; Roads, school renovations, borehole, distribution of educational materials, etc.
Speaking on what he observed during the commissioning, Senator Kalu, said he noticed “overheating of the polity by some political leaders of Abia State over the issue of zoning of the governorship seat.”
The former governor said, although, he will speak on the Abia governorship zoning at the appropriate time, stressing that governorship aspirants, irrespective of where they come from should be allowed to contest.
He appealed to the state political leaders not to set the state on fire.
He said: “I have spent the majority of my Easter Holiday inspecting and commissioning the road projects, school renovations and distribution of educational materials I attracted to my constituency, Abia North Senatorial District.
“One disturbing thing I have observed is the overheating of the polity by some political leaders of our dear state over the issue of zoning of the governorship seat. I am appealing to them not to set the state on fire.
“Instead of overheating the polity, what we should be doing now is to talk about what we have achieved since we were elected and the things we intend to do subsequently.
“Governoship aspirants, irrespective of where they come from should be allowed to contest because it is their right to do so, but at the appropriate time, I shall speak on the issue of zoning and Abians would also make their choice from the best among all.
