The memorial service of Late Mrs Ifeoma Ekekwe, wife of Chief Raphmoore Ekekwe(Holy Child ) held on Saturday was honored with the presence of the Chief Whip of the 9th Senate and former Governor of Abia Attention Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
This is even as Senator Kalu donated N2.5 million for the building of Chapel of Perpetual Adoration in St Patrick catholic Church Umuchu in honour of Late Ekekwe.
The memorial service held at Raphmoore’s compound, Ibughubu Village, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State asides the Senate Chief Whip was honored by a long list of dignitaries who graced the memorial service to pay their last respect to the deceased.
In his speech Senator Kalu while addressing the audience condoled with Raphmoore and emphasised that he should take solace in God knowing that his wife spent life worthy of emulation.
According to him “We have to thank God for her life because she lived a very good life. We must all realise that one day we shall all die, but what matters most is the kind of life we live and the type of legacy that shall leave behind because no one can escape death.
“We thank God for her life and I urge everyone of us here to dedicate our lives to christ. I am giving N2.5 million for immediate take off of the chapel project. I have asked the Parish Priest to keep me informed on the progress and when more is needed.
The memorial service was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Aba , Bishop Augustine Ndubueze Echema and Parish Priest of St Patrick Catholic Church, Umuchu, Rev. Fr Emmanuel Udechukwu
