Rt Honourable Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, has joined the 2023 Presidential race.
Amaechi, who has severally denied being interested in the race, declared his interest on Saturday.
“I stand before you today to declare my intention and submit my application to serve as your next President,” he wrote on his verified Facebook page.
The minister who is currently addressing APC members in Rivers, is arguably one of the most influential ministers under President Muhammadu Buhari.
Amaechi served twice as the head of Buhari’s campaign in 2015 and 2019.
The minister is the first member of Buhari’s cabinet to throw in his hat in the presidential ring, others interested in the 2023 race are yet to make their intention known.
